HINT FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT’S THEME (11.10.12)

7 Nov

                    HINT:

Well, the campaigns and elections are finally over. No more debates, no more ads, no more declaiming and blaming, no more spinning and pivoting, no more talking points and scoring points, and no more name calling — Wait a minute! Better hold off on that last one.

(Don’t forget to check out the Thanksgiving Show page and send me a suggestion for the “Music To Be Thankful For” show.)

SATURDAY NIGHT’S SHOW. (11.3.12)

1 Nov

No hint necessary. It’s been a horrific week. I hope you are safe. If you can, let’s spend an hour being grateful and hopeful.

HINT FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT’S THEME (10.27.12)

24 Oct

HINT:

Round about the caldron go;
In the poison’d entrails throw.—
Toad, that under cold stone,
Days and nights has thirty-one;
Swelter’d venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i’ the charmed pot!

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

Is that a description of me in the kitchen whipping up my oft-disparaged béchamel sauce? Yes, but it has an entirely different meaning when it comes to the musical theme for this week’s Turntable For One.

Hey – while you’re here, click on the Thanksgiving  Show link in the right-hand corner and check out how you can be a part of this year’s special music  show.

HINT:

We’re goin’ back to basics, this week on Turntable For One,

I said we’re going back to basics, this week on Turntable For One.

We’ll be crying and moaning and wailing,

’cause that’s my idea of fun!

3 Oct

HINT:

If Turntable For One were a movie this week, it would be “To Kvetch A Thief;” if Turntable For One were a musical based on a movie, it would be “Kvetch Me If You Can;” if Turntable For One were a book, it would be “Kvetcher In The Rye;” and if Turntable For One were a fishing show (or a Jets receiver), it would be “Kvetch and Release.” But Turntable For One is an hour of jazz vocals. So what will I be playing this Saturday night?

HINT:

“What’s your road, man?–holyboy road, madman road, rainbow road, guppy road, any road. It’s an anywhere road for anybody anyhow.”

– Jack Kerouac, On the Road,

Buckle up, check the map, strap the dog to the car roof, and crank up the radio for an hour of great jazz vocals.
