HINT FOR THE FINAL SHOW…OF 2016. (12.31.16)

28 Dec

HINT:

While I’m working day and night on my resolutions for the new year – right now I’ve got them down to three categories: “Possible”, “Unlikely”, and “In Your Dreams” – I thought we could end the year by listening again to my favorite show from 2016.  Maybe it’s one of your favorites, too; maybe it’s not. But do you really want the year to end with an argument?

Happy New Year one and all, wherever you are.

Turntable For One.  Jazz Vocals.  Saturday Nights 9-11 PM (E.S.T.)

NEWS AND A HINT ABOUT THIS SATURDAY (12.10.16)

8 Dec

HOT NEWS:

This Saturday I’ll be sitting in for Garrett Stack on his program, Broadway Bound, two hours of the best of Broadway musicals from today and. well, from before today.  Saturday 4-6 PM.

TURNTABLE FOR ONE HINT:

After playing two hours of music from Broadway, I thought I’d play music from another medium that gave us tons and tons of great songs – and I don’t mean me singing in the shower, although I could mean me singing in the rain…

PLAYLISTS FOR “SPEED DATING” AND “NIGHT OF THE LIVING INSOMNIACS” (ARCHIVE SHOWS) (12.3.16)

Didn’t do a live show this week, but found a couple of gems hidden in the archives.

First – Musical Speed Dating,  or as I think of it: Match.com meets Musical Chairs! 30 singers in 60 minutes – you do the math.  No other radio program would attempt to do this,  probably for good reasons.

Second: Night Of The Living Insomnaics! Ok, let’s dispense with the jokes about how can I have insomnia when I’m always putting audiences to sleep. That makes me yawn, okay? But not because I’m tired. Still, pretty impressive how many great singers and songs have dealt with the subject.
