PLAYLIST FOR “OSCAR LOSERS…AND A FEW WINNERS” (2.25.17)

27 Feb

Most of these songs are losers, Oscar losers, that is.  (Though none of the singers and musicians are.) In addition to paying tribute to the Oscar nominated songs, I also took time out to pay tribute to Sweden and Swedish jazz singers in their time of tears and trial following the terrorist attacks that so surprised, if not stunned, us all when we heard about them.

HINT:

Floods are raging, so are voters; people are being kept out of the country, kept out of bathrooms, and kept out of the loop. Surely I can get a musical theme out of all that important news. Oh, wait – isn’t it Oscar week?
