HINT FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT’S MUSICAL THEME (5.26.18)

25 May

HINT:

Remember me? I wrote 1400 songs…when I was alive. I’ve been dead for more than 40 years. When I heard my songs were going to featured on this radio show, I started spinning in my grave – which sounded like a great title for a new song. But then, there’s this whole being dead thing. Kinda spoils all my best ideas these days.

Turntable For One    Jazz Vocals   9-11 PM (E.D.T.)

How can you improve on perfection? Don’t ask me, but while I was pondering this irrelevant question last Saturday night, I played a show from May of 2017.  Most of the singers were mothers (in the best sense), I tossed in a hefty helping of motherly advice, plus a couple of momma’s boys to help me wish all mothers a happy Mother’s Day.

PLAYLIST FOR “HITTING BOTTOM” (5.5.18)

6 May

I know it was wishful thinking on my part, but on Saturday’s show I celebrated finally hitting bottom. No, this wasn’t a tribute to Stormy Daniels, it was a realization that the way things are going, I may not live long enough to see us hit the actual bottom. All the songs and some of the singers know exactly what I meant.  So now, after this show, I can tell myself (or pretend) that things will start to get better. (I’m not holding my breath, because I know I really won’t live long enough that way.)
