BIG NEWS!! TWO SHOWS THIS WEEK!! (4.30.22)

27 Apr

You’ll be doing plenty of this (whatever this is) when I sit in as host on American Jukebox, two hours of rock hits from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. 4-6 PM (Eastern Time)

Then you’ll be doing plenty of this when I play jazz versions of the same musical themes I played on American Jukebox. 9:00 PM (Eastern Time)

Or maybe you’ll just be doing plenty of this – which is what you usually do.

HINT FOR THIS WEEK’S MUSICAL THEME (4.23.22)

20 Apr

HINT:

It’s Fundraising Week at WMNR Fine Arts Radio! Sure, some people would rather have a root canal and some radio stations think it’s like pulling teeth. But I know MY audience – the best damned audience in radio – will be calling me Saturday night to pledge their support and dollars for Turntable For One. And how about this? Anyone who calls and pledges can also make a request –  song or artist – and I’ll play it during the second hour.

PLAYLIST FOR “IT’S RAINING CATS AND…EVEN MORE CATS” (4.9.22)

10 Apr

I wanted to do a special show for a special audience who never choose to listen to the show but listen to the show nearly every week, often sitting in someone’s lap or, more likely, sitting in exactly the chair someone else wants to sit in. During the show listeners in AZ sent me a photo of their cat, Baxter, listening to my show with them. Baxter is different from most of my audience not because he has whiskers and a tail, but because he’s clearly awake. And I also played a song by another Ukrainian jazz artist because…
