HINT FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT THEME (3.29.14)

26 Mar

HINT:

For this week’s program, I’m once again delving deep into the vast bowels of the Turntable For One recorded archives. (Perhaps a more elegant metaphor is wanted here). Nevertheless, I hope you’re ready to party Saturday night because on that show I threw an all-singing, all-star, all-out par-teee.

PLAYLIST FOR “BREAKING THE RECORD” (3.22.14)

22 Mar

Once again Turntable For One goes where no other radio program has tried to go. (What do they know that I don’t and when will I ever learn?) I challenged the record for the most number of songs played during the show and, including references from the accompanists, I played 30 in one hour, a record I think will stand for a while – certainly a lot longer than the Duke basketball team. But take a look at the playlist. I’d say the music was a Win-Win for me and everyone else.

HINT FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT’S SHOW (3.22.14)

19 Mar

HINT:

A while back I broke the Turntable For One record for the greatest number of singers played on the air during one show. (And I did it without playing the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.) Well, since nobody wrote or called saying, “Don’t ever do anything like that again,” guess what? I’m doing something like that again.

Which record will I try to break this time? Tune in Saturday Night and find out!

March Madness. Hey — it’s not just for basketball. After a winter like this one and a calendar filled with holidays and celebrations, it’s also a state of mind, an unstable state of mind, at least according to tonight’s singers.

HINT FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT’S THEME (3.15.14)

12 Mar

HINT:

March is supposed to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb, or vice versa. What if March decided to come in like a giraffe and go out like a lemur? Or a gibbon? Or a Ford Fiesta? Or a blueberry muffin?? You think this is madness? I wonder what kind of madness there could be in March?

PLAYLIST FOR “A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO LOW SELF-ESTEEM” (3.8.14)

I tried to play the best songs I could think of for this theme, but, I probably left out all the really good ones. Crap. I knew I was going to do that. Why did I think I could do this right? What was I thinking?

Uh-Oh. Maybe I’ve been thinking about Low Self-Esteem a little too long this week.

Talk to you next Saturday.
