Proven: Turntable For One makes you healthy and happy!
Ok. Mock on, mock on. But I’m not making this up, unlike the time I said Angela Lansbury asked me to run away with her. No, I’m talking real scientific research, a couple of studies widely reported in the media.
The first one quantified and confirmed something we already knew instinctively: every hour of television you watch reduces your life span by 22 minutes. Well, duh. You try watching an episode of “The Bachelorette” and see if you don’t feel your will to live fading like Tinkerbell’s glow.
Now the really good news: Another study, this one conducted in Britain, found that people who listen to radio have higher levels of happiness and energy than consumers of other forms of media. In fact, radio had the most mood-enhancing effect of any media. No surprise there. My mother never misses Turntable For One and she turns 98 this year. Draw your own conclusions.
Want to get started on a happier, healthier life? Maybe you should meet me Saturday night at my Turntable For One.
How you i listen to the show here? I have an ipad with the radio thing on it. From your play lists i know i would be happier listening than a lot of other things i do on Saturday night.
Hope you, Megan, and Cody are all well, despite the snow. It is cold and rainy here tonight.
