HINT FOR SATURDAY NIGHT’S THEME (11/26/11)

23 Nov

How’s this for a hint?  The theme is “Music We’re Thankful For.” I announced that weeks ago, so you don’t have to guess this week. Aren’t you thankful for that already?

Tune in to hear my choices, plus music other broadcasters at the station and listeners are thankful for, too.

Turntable For One.  Saturday night at 10:00.  Live radio on WMNR and wmnr.org

Happy Birthday H. William. I liked tonight’s show. You sounded so relaxed and happy to be on the air. Great job! And hello to all the family as your celebrate your b’day.

    Hope its fun!

Hi, Nan. Thanks for writing. I know I had a great time last night. I love the annual family night; plus the show and all of these months at the station would not have been so terrific without “Stay-Up Stan” Dan in the studio. A very fun night — and I have photos to prove it. I’ll be posting them soon either here and/or on Facebook. Back to my birthday merriment. More later — Bill

Another great show, Bill! I loved Delicatessen! Thanks for introducing them to us! I couldn’t help myself: I downloaded their album, My Baby Just Cares for Me, once I heard you play the title track–and after I sampled the album. This iTunes download is just too easy–like playing the slots, I suppose, except in this case, we’re guaranteed to get exactly what we want.
By the way, have you ever played the whole piece of your theme music by Cody Owen Stine? Probably you have, and I just missed the show. I love the music. I there any way I can get that piece–or buy it, hmmm? Happy Birthday! Michael

Hi, Michael. I’m so glad you were listening and I have to admit that playing a song or a singer that catches a listener’s ear (especially when it’s Delicatessen) makes me even happier. It makes all of the other threats and subpoenas worth it. And by the way of your by the way (does that cancel them out?), I’ve played Cody’s 7:25 Paris Mismatch in its entirety only once — at the end of my last show last season. But I’m always happy to accomodate a listener’s request, especially when it comes to that music.

Thank you for the birthday wishes; and right back at you.

      More later —

      Bill
