Welcome to the official Turntable For One blog. I know. You’re thinking, sure, Bill, you can fill an entertaining hour every week with great jazz vocals (10:00 pm, Saturday night on WMNR-FM, wmnr.org), but do you really have what it takes to fill a blog?
I admit blogging has certain requisites. Let’s see how I stack up:
- A computer? Check!
- An inexplicable, if immodest interest in hearing your own voice? Check!
- An inexplicable, if immodest belief that someone else wants to hear your voice, too? Check!
- More opinions than facts? Check!
- More answers than solutions? Check!
- Too much free time? Check!
Satisfied? Now let’s get started!
This is where you’ll come for breaking news about Turntable For One. And because there seldom is any breaking news about Turntable For One, I’ll also be posting my weekly playlists, hints about themes for up-coming shows, errant and random comments about music I’m listening to, interviews and other features that couldn’t make it into the live shows, occasional contests and opinion polls, plus personal stories that may make you laugh or cry, when, really, you should be doubting their veracity. And if I totally run out of ideas, how about a few of my favorite easy-to-follow recipes for one-pan meals? You got it!
Remember that you, the bloggee, can also get involved. Leave your comments, suggestions, requests, regrets, anxieties, ambitions, and unfulfilled dreams in the “comment box.” It’ll be our little secret.
Talk to you next week…
