PLAYLIST – THE THREE D’s

20 Nov

As a public service, this week’s show focussed a penetrating light on a serious, while completely fabricated problem: the number of songs about the Distracted, the Deluded, or the Distraught. And I categorically deny those rumors that the program was funded by an underwriting grant from the manufacturer of Ritalin.

Next Saturday, the annual Thanksgiving show. Talk to you next week.

HINT FOR SATURDAY NIGHT’S THEME (11/19/11)

16 Nov

We all know the three B’s — Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered. Well, this week I’m playing songs of the three D’s.

To make it easier, the following are all incorrect guesses: Diastolic, Distemper, Diaspora, Diminutive, Dissolute, Decadent, Diaphanous, Dips.

Hope that helps. Keep at it. You’ve got till Saturday night at 10:00 to figure it out.

By the way…I’ll be sitting in for Will Duchon this Friday night at 10:00 on Will’s show, “The Night Cafe.” Same great music, new questionable guest host.  Check out the show’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Friday-Evening-ClassicsThe-Night-Cafe-with-Will-Duchon/282954118397857

Hint:

What do these couples have in common? Othello and Desdemona, Hedda and Jergen, Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, Liz Taylor and Eddie Fisher, Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Brown, J-Lo and Marc? And is it really possible to come up with a new and exciting musical game about this stuff that you can play at home? Tune in Saturday night at 10:00 to find out.
