23 Oct

Getting in the spirit for WMNR’s Fall Fundraising drive this week, I played songs with the magic words, Please and Thank You during the first hour or so. I also invited listeners to pledge and if they did, they could request or song and I’d play it during the second hour of the show.

PLAYLIST FOR “THE HEART WANTS WHAT IT WANTS” (5.6.17)

6 May

I believe human beings have one determinative principle – although principle seems to be a word that’s fallen from grace and practice these days. “The Heart Wants What It Wants” – Doesn’t that explain why people choose their partners, their meals, their cars, their politicians, and in the case of one of this week’s mystery vocalists, why he married his step-daughter. Emily Dickinson gave that phrase to the world in a letter.  I wonder if she would be happy about that today. I was happy about these songs for this week’s theme.

PLAYLIST FOR “THINGS TO DO WHILE LISTENING TO TURNTABLE FOR ONE” (10.8.16)

10 Oct

It’s a multi-tasking world. For instance, I’m tap dancing while I type this (which could explain all of the typos). What does my audience do while listening to Turntable For One? They told me some of the things they do – the things they can’t be arrested for – and I gave them a few additional suggestions, too. A good time was had by all. (See below for proof.)
