PLAYLIST FOR “HELLO, I MUST BE GOING” SEASON FINALE 6.28.25

29 Jun

Last show of the season. It always makes me sad for the music I haven’t played, the musical themes I never got to, the bad jokes I never made. Guess the audience lucked out on that third thing. As I have for the past 15 years, I handed out summer listening assignments. Have a great summer, everyone! And if the world is still here and we still have a country, you should be hearing from me in September.

Hello, I must be going. Time again for my summer vacation. But not before I  hand out your summer listening assignments. (And, yes, there will be a quiz when I’m back in the Fall!) I’ll also be spilling about the tasty, out-of-the-box, out of the truck treats I’ll be serving up when I come to your neighborhood. Tune in for the season finale Saturday night!

PLAYLIST FOR “PROMISES, PROMISES” 6.21.25

22 Jun

When I started this show, 15 years ago, I promised no bad jokes. That promise went out the window on the first show. Then I promised I’d never play Rod Stewart or Lawrence Welk.  0 for 2 on those.  Finally, in desperation, I promised never to try to sell  skin care products to my audience. I’ve kept that promise…but of course, I do have one more show to go this season; and I do have 15 boxes of the stuff in my garage.  Hmmmm….  This week? I promised two hours all about promises others have made, and a few they didn’t keep.

For some reason I seem to be in “get out of Dodge mode” these days. Can’t imagine why. So I played a couple hours of songs about famous addresses, songs with lyrics about famous addresses, and songs recorded at famous addresses.  I especially liked playing Steven Pasquale singing the new national anthem of ICE – On The Street Where You Live.
