HINT FOR THIS WEEK’S MUSICAL THEME (12.22.18)

HINT:

Oh, by gosh, by golly! Look how excited the entire WMNR Radio staff is waiting for the 2018 Christmas party this Saturday night! Turntable For One will kick it off at 9 PM with lots of jazz versions of holiday favorites. Plus, this year Chandler (front row, second from the right, glasses in left hand) won’t be allowed within 20 feet of any mistletoe. So relax and enjoy the music. #jazz #Chandler

I make up the themes, I plan the music, I create the playlist, I even commissioned an portrait of myself to sit in for me when I can’t make it to the radio station. Think Turntable For One can’t get any more self-indulgent? You’re in for a surprise on Saturday.

PLAYLIST FOR “9TH ANNUAL MUSIC TO BE THANKFUL FOR” SHOW (11.24.18)

25 Nov

This is a special show I wait for every year. In addition to presenting some of the music I’ve been thankful for during the past year, I ask some of my fellow broadcasters to record a brief intro for their choices, because it’s also “Family Night At Turntable For One,” so my wife and son offer their choices, plus I ask a few of my favorite singers to tell my audience about a song or singer they’re thankful for. This year it was Kellye Gray, Heather Bambrick, Diane Marino, and Mark Winkler.

19 Nov

Saturday afternoon, I sat in for Garrett Stack on his program American Jukebox, rock and pop hits of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s.  So I thought I’d spend Saturday evening on my show playing jazz versions of pop tunes.
