PLAYLIST FOR “WHERE OR WHEN” (2.4.23)

5 Feb

When I was a kid, the questions I asked were Who, What, Where, and How. Mostly because I was just trying to figure out if Col. Mustard killed Miss Scarlet with the candlestick in the conservatory. (Who knew there was so much murder at Julliard?) Well, now I mostly just ask two questions: Where – as in Where did I leave my glasses? And When – as in When did we have that conversation?  So because my show is nothing if not self-involved and self-referential, I played two hours of Where or When songs. BTW: I never found my glasses.

11 Oct

Saturday was World Mental Health Day. So, of course, I wanted to play two hours of positive, motivating, and encouraging songs. JUST KIDDING!! Doing that would have made me part of the solution, not part of the problem. That’s not the way I roll. In addition to some favorite songs about the questionable mental state of the world, I also played songs about several of the stressors indicating less than optimum mental health. PLAYLIST FOR “TWO SHOWS FROM THE ARCHIVE” (2.27.16) #jazz #jazzradio #jazzsingers

27 Feb

I played two shows from the archive while I took a Saturday off to gather my thoughts. I should have brought a leaf rake. First up was “All Talk Radio!” a show from last fall after an exciting two weeks at Pundit Training Camp where I learned the valuable lessons all pundits and news commentators know, such as: it’s not what you have to say, but how long it takes you to say it. Oh, I could have talked on and on and on and on about this, but I filled up most of the hour with some great songs about talking.
