PLAYLIST FOR “SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN” (10.17.15) #jazz #jazzradio #jazzsingers

17 Oct

What’s the difference between a Dream and a Plan? Well, I’ve been having a lot of bad dreams lately, a lot of bad plans, too. Dreams aren’t real and they don’t come true…of course, most of my plans don’t come true, either. You know, maybe there’s no difference at all. Both of them end in disappointment and heartache – but not when singers like the ones I played are singing about plans they’re making!

HINT:

I’m not saying, don’t watch your college football game on Saturday night. I’m saying, watch the game with the sound off and with Turntable For One on. I think you’ll be surprised at how accurately the show underscores the action on the field. Sound like a plan? Great, because I can think of  lots more plans to suggest…

Happy to be back after an exciting two weeks at Pundit Training Camp, where I learned the valuable lessons all pundits and news commentators know, such as: it’s not what you have to say, but how long it takes you to say it that matters. I could have talked on and on and on and on about this, but I filled up most of the hour with some great songs about talking.

HINT FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT’S THEME – 8…9…10 – READY OR NOT, HERE I COME! #jazzradio #jazzvocals #jazz

3 Sep

Turntable For One begins its sixth season this Saturday, Sept. 5th at 10:00 PM (E.S.T.)!

HINT:

I’ve been busy doing all the things I need to do to make a good first impression on the first show of the year. I’ve written to my anger management coach, apologizing for the things I said to him at the last class. I’ve taken a vow not to criticize my audience, no matter what they’re wearing. As for the people who urged me to take a vow of silence instead, well, I’m just going to have to ignore those nay-sayers (until I hear a plan of attack from my legal team). What else should I do to make a good first impression?
