PLAYLIST FOR “A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO INANIMATE OBJECTS” (AN ARCHIVE REBROADCAST 10.18.25

20 Oct

Saturday’s show was a blast from the past, a show from about a year ago. Here’s what I said back then:

What do you do when you’re so sick of politics, you can’t stand to turn on the news— and when your football teams are losing so badly it ruins Sunday afternoon… and Sunday night… And Thursday night… And Monday night… and when your favorite restaurant starts listing the calories for every single menu item.  I’ll tell you what you do to take your mind off the real world. You do a two-hour musical tribute to inanimate objects!

PLAYLIST FOR “I’M IN THE MOOD FOR THE SUBJUNCTIVE” (3.30.19)

30 Mar

In an effort to save an endangered and near extinct treasure – good grammar, I renewed my effort to MGGA – Make Grammar Great Again – and offered a remedial lesson in the subjunctive, that form of grammar that expresses wishes and desires for things we don’t have. Of course, I had a lot of help from some wonderful adjunct songwriters and singers. Wish you’d never heard of the subjunctive mood? Hey, maybe you understand this stuff better than you think.
