Thanks for sharing Lawrence Welk’s birthday celebration with me. I will always think of him as one of those musical soldiers, who, even in the face of Daylight Saving Time, was always trying to turn the clocks back. In weeks to come you won’t want to miss other stirring Turntable For One tributes to those singers and musicians who helped make music what it is today, by retiring, giving up, getting into debilitating fistfights, and/or opening up dry cleaning shops.
