TURNTABLE FOR ONE

 2022 is just a week old, but it’s been an eventful week. We observed the one-year anniversary of one of the most disgraceful, unforgettable, unforgivable moments in American history. On a happier note – there are happier notes. WMNR Fine Arts Radio celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2022.  On a personal note, my wife and I celebrated our 52nd anniversary this week. Did we go to a fabulous restaurant?  No, not when omicron is on most menus as a main course. Did we go ice skating? (Something Megan has loved her entire life.) Let me just say that the only things more brittle than my ego are my bones. So we went dancing instead?  Did you hear what I just said about my bones?  Actually, no, that one’s more about my ego.  Which finally brings me to this week’s theme if anyone is still awake. I wanted to celebrate my anniversary and my wife with some of the music that brought us together, some of the music Megan and I discovered together, some of the music that has sustained us. In short: just when you thought this show couldn’t get more self-indulgent, I presented two hours of Music We Love on this Happy Anniversary edition of Turntable For One.
