I reached back into the Turntable For One archives and dusted off golden oldie and one of my favorites from the past few years. This is what I wrote when the show was new:
In the middle of planning this week’s show – A Musical Tribute To The Venn Diagram – I was forced to face a defining question: What makes Turntable For One Turntable For One? Forget the technical mistakes. Forget the historical inaccuracies. Forget the defamation law suits (And God knows I’ve tried). The essence week after week: Songs! Can’t I get a theme out of that?

Well, they didn’t change the locks on the front door so after my summer hiatus I was finally back at my Turntable For One. That’s definitely something I could cheer about. To spread the cheers around I found some songs about cheering and singers we could all cheer for. Plus I gave four hearty and heartfelt cheers to the Village Vanguard which turned 90 years old this year.
