PLAYLIST FOR “WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?” (12.6.14)

6 Dec

“What happens next?” That’s a question we’ve all been asking since the first time we heard a bedtime story. Well, tonight, I decided not to keep you in suspense. When you listened to one song, you only had to wait a couple of minutes to find out what happened next. However, now you have to wait until Wednesday to see the hint of what I’ll be doing next Saturday night.

PLAYLIST FOR “THE SONG IS YOU” (11.8.14)

I’ve played songs that compare people to ghosts, dogs, cats, gypsies, tramps, and thieves, mysteries, and more. You know what I haven’t played? What’s that? If you can come up with an hour of songs comparing people to stucco, let me know, but until then, check these songs out.

PLAYLIST FOR “TEACHING OLD DOGS NEW TRICKS?” (9.27.14)

28 Sep

I know that you depend on Turntable For One to come up with easy answers to hard questions, the questions no one is asking (probably for lack of interest). And I don’t think the show has ever failed you, at least, not on that score. So last night, I challenged the old saw, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” Of course, the easy way to prove or disprove this would have been to bring an old dog into the studio and spend my hour of air time trying to teach it a new trick. However I scoff at the easy way, I eschew the conventional, and, so, instead, I played an hour of songs or singers related to the topic. The results may not have been conclusive, but they sure were swinging.
