I’m usually doing my annual Halloween show about now, playing classic Halloween songs and greeting trick or treaters at the door. This year I was doing all of the begging and pleading because Fine Arts Radio was practicing the fine art of fundraising! So with my penchant for throwing subtlety to the wind, I played an evening of duets and duos to urge listeners to put their money where my mouth is. (Making it clear to the more eager in my audience that I was only stating a metaphor.)

What on earth is going on?  Punching in the house of representatives.  Senators challenging witnesses to fight.  Road rage.  Parking lot rage; grocery store rage. What’s next? I replayed a show from last November because I couldn’t do a live show this week and, considering all the horrendous things that haves happened just since November, I’ve taken to longing for the good old days — of not so long ago. It was nostalgic for when I was smart and my phone was dumb, when a blue state was just me having a bad day, and when Harvey was a six-foot invisible rabbit you really wanted to see and not a creep you never want to see again. We can’t live in the past, but I don’t mind an occasional visit. I’ll be back from my trip down memory lane and in the studio next Saturday night.
