PLAYLIST FOR “A PRE-CHRISTMAS PARTY PARTY” 12.13.25

15 Dec

Next week is my annual Turntable For One Christmas party. And, of course, everyone is invited…well maybe not the person who put hardboiled eggs in the eggnog (as if anything could make eggnog more palatable) and the person who made a wish and blew out all the candles on my menorah. (That’s not how it works!) But I realized that I can’t possibly squeeze all of my favorite holiday music into two hours next week. So I got a head start this week.

It’s been quite a peripatetic week, no? Trick or treaters walking up and down their neighborhoods; politicians trying to walk back their unfortunate remarks; the Yankees certainly could have used a few more walks or maybe some walk-on homers; and early  Sunday morning we walked back the hands of time an hour. PLAYLIST FOR “DUETS & DUOS” – FALL FUNDRAISING 10.26.24

28 Oct

I’m usually doing my annual Halloween show about now, playing classic Halloween songs and greeting trick or treaters at the door. This year I was doing all of the begging and pleading because Fine Arts Radio was practicing the fine art of fundraising! When they come, they may be small, they may be large; they may come one at a time or maybe in bunches. You don’t always see them coming, but they’re coming.

Of course I’m talking about mosquito bites.  No — I’m talking about Dilemmas – those tricky speed bumps life throws at us.  You know, Which is better: fire or ice?  Window or aisle?  Or the one that vexes me most: fries or side salad?
