HINT FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT’S THEME (5.14.16)

12 May

HINT:

A long time ago, back when Live Tweeting was something only birds did and when Rash was just a skin condition and not the condition of the electorate, people took the time to communicate in a very precise and particular way. I’m going to pay tribute to that lost art this week.

PLAYLIST FOR “CELEBRATING MOTHERS” (5.7.16)

9 May

A program for all the mothers in the audience, and for a change I meant it in a literal sense, not as a nasty pejorative. So it was two-hours of music about being a mother, caring for their kids, worrying about their kids, and advising their kids – any of which can be taken to an uncomfortable extreme…but maybe that’s just my story.

HINT FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT’S THEME (5.7.16)

5 May

HINT:

With Mothers Day approaching, I’m sure we’re all thinking about our moms. If yours was like mine, she must have reminded you regularly that being a mother is a difficult and often thankless job. You know what mine never told me? It’s also a job with no salary! (I can’t believe the things I did to meet her weekly pay check.) Want to hear some more things my mother never told me?

SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN

What’s the difference between a Dream and a Plan? Well, I’ve been having a lot of bad dreams lately, a lot of bad plans, too. Dreams aren’t real and they don’t come true…of course, most of my plans don’t come true, either. You know, maybe there’s no difference at all. Both of them end in disappointment and heartache – but not when singers like the ones I played are singing about plans they’re making!
