Sure, I promised my audience a special April 1st show with a new recording of Rod Stewart singing “Nessun Dorma,” a YouTube video of The Boy’s Choir of Galway Cathedral singing in Gaelic, “99 Bottles Of Beer On The Wall,” plus a bootleg from a Joni Mitchell recording session where Joni is aiming a profanity-lace rant at her assistant who gave her the wrong bottle of spring water. What do these things have in common: a pogo stick, a diving board, a trampoline?  Three things I wouldn’t be caught dead on? True but not what I was thinking. The three worst golden anniversary gifts? Also true but I couldn’t get two hours of music out of that. Answer: they all have springs! March 17th was National Sleep Day – the last holiday in the world I’d like my audience to celebrate. Fortunately, it was also St. Patrick’s Day. That’s more like it. So I presented a mixture of laughter and tears, a perfect combination for a St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Although, in truth, most of the tears were mine because once again I maintained my tradition of eating a celebratory bowl of Lucky Charms on the air. (Lucky Charms are now gluten-free.
