PLAYLIST FOR “ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARTY 2019”

16 Mar

It’s been a Turntable For One St. Patrick’s Day tradition for me to play some jazz singers from Ireland, a few Irish-American (or at least half-Irish-American) singers and musicians, and – always a highlight – for me to eat some traditional Irish food on the air – which, of course, means  a bowl of Lucky Charms. And, as if hearing me struggle and choke wasn’t incentive enough, I made this year’s party a celebration of the songs of Jimmy McHugh, the wonderful Irish-American composer.

PLAYLIST FOR “HEARTFELT, HEARTLESS, & HEARTBROKEN: SONGS FOR VALENTINE’S DAY (2.13.16) #jazzradio

14 Feb

In last Wednesday’s hint, I asked what was the only thing I haven’t been called during the 5 1/2 year run of Turntable For One. Thanks for all of the suggestions (most of which were unprintable). Of course, calling me these things immediately disqualifies your answer from the quiz. The answer I was thinking of was “all heart.” And as you peruse the playlist, I think you’ll see that I’ve rectified that situation.
