Next week is my annual Turntable For One Christmas party. And, of course, everyone is invited…well maybe not the person who put hardboiled eggs in the eggnog (as if anything could make eggnog more palatable) and the person who made a wish and blew out all the candles on my menorah. I started my Christmas vacation a little early and played the 2020 Christmas program, recorded back when we were all concerned about the pandemic and worried if large gatherings were the smartest way to celebrate the holiday. Hmmm – it seems the more things change…  Here’s the description I wrote about the show last year:

Some traditional holiday favorites, both from the show and around my house; plus a demo of a Christmas song with music composed by my son, Cody, and lyrics written by my wife, Megan. And if that weren’t enough to keep you awake and because no one begged me not to do it, once again I played the worst Christmas song ever written as sung by Robert Goulet. And what Turntable For One Christmas Party would be complete without the annual and traditional heartwarming retelling of the story of how a beloved Christmas song nearly got me expelled from Hebrew school? Merry and Happy and the best and safest holidays possible for all.  I’ll be back in the new year.
