PLAYLIST FOR “CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY 2018” 4.28.18)

28 Apr

Forget Frank; Tony can take a hike; Carmen isn’t coming; and Nina’s a no-show. In fact, I gave all American jazz singers the night off and played singers from around the world to celebrate (a couple days early) International Jazz Day. My special thanks to Carol Welsman (Canada), Sarah Lancman (France), Sinne Eeg (Denmark), Tom Rust (U.K.), and Susie Arioli (Canada) for recording greetings to the Turntable For One audience and introducing a song or performer they admire. Special thanks, also, to Delicatessen Jazz for letting me give the world premiere of a song from their new, soon-to-be-released CD.
